Shafi Capital Consulting, LLC (“Shafi Capital Consulting,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a commercial loan brokerage and consulting firm based in New Orleans, Louisiana. This policy explains what information we collect through shaficapitalconsulting.com and our online application and document upload forms, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Please read this policy before submitting an inquiry or application. By using this site or submitting information to us, you agree to the practices described here.
This policy applies to information we collect from visitors to our website, from prospective and current clients, and from the individual principals, owners, and guarantors associated with a business seeking financing. It applies only to Shafi Capital Consulting, LLC. It does not cover the privacy practices of lenders, banks, or other third parties to whom we may submit a financing request; those parties maintain their own privacy policies, which will govern their handling of your information.
We collect the information you provide when you contact us, complete our loan application, or upload documents. Depending on the type of financing requested, this may include:
With your authorization, we may obtain consumer or commercial credit reports, business verification data, background and lien or judgment searches, and property or title records. We may also receive information from lenders, referral partners, your accountant or attorney, or other parties you direct to communicate with us.
When you visit our website, our hosting provider may automatically collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visit. This data is used to operate and secure the site.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
We share information with third parties when reasonably necessary to evaluate, arrange, process, or facilitate the financing you request, to operate our business, or as described below.
Brokering is the core of what we do, so sharing your application and supporting documents with lenders is a necessary part of the service. When you submit an application, you authorize us to transmit that information — including the personal financial information of owners and guarantors — to banks, credit unions, private lenders, and other funding sources we believe may be able to finance your request. We may submit your request to more than one lender. Each lender is an independent party and will handle your information under its own privacy practices.
We use third-party service providers to operate our business and to process information you submit. These may include website hosting and technology providers (such as Netlify), online form and document upload platforms (such as Jotform), email, phone, and text messaging providers, and document storage, e-signature, or client management tools. These providers process information on our behalf and are expected to safeguard it.
Where relevant to your transaction and with your direction or consent, we may share information with title companies, appraisers, insurance agents, attorneys, accountants, or other parties involved in closing.
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to investigate suspected fraud, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients or our business.
If our business is sold, merged, or reorganized, client information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We will not order a credit report on you or your business without your authorization. Our application includes a separate authorization for a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score; any hard inquiry later in the process requires your additional authorization.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, such as encrypted (HTTPS) transmission of our website and online forms and limiting access to files to those who need them to do the work.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send Social Security numbers, account numbers, tax returns, or other sensitive documents by ordinary email or through our general contact form. Use our online document upload portal instead.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, maintain appropriate business and transaction records, comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information and our relationship with you.
Our site and our forms may link to third-party websites, including lender portals. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Our services are directed to businesses and to adults acting on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Depending on where you reside and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, or deletion. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law. To make a request, email us at shaficonsulting@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request.
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
